The developers of Dead Space 2 don't think so and they used the concept to amazing effect in the game. As Isaac continues to advance - gunning down Necromorphs with impunity as he goes - he comes across a nursery of sorts. Eventually he reaches a window where he sees a young woman open her arms so that a baby Necromorph can waddle into them and give her a cuddle. It's all so very cute, until the explosion that leaves the poor woman as little more than a bloodstain on a window.
