16. The Dunwich Building In Fallout 3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4rMrMZ8YBQ Fallout 3 was a true classic of the last generation, bringing a convincing post-apocalyptic wasteland to gamers and packing in so much that you could lose days exploring. Then it went all survival horror. If you happened to come across the Dunwich Building while wandering around the charred landscape you were in for the weirdest experience in the game. Objects would move of their own accord, weird noises would occur and hallucinations abound as you explore the building. You can even find journals written by a man named James that add to the whole experience. It is all an enormous reference to the work of H.P. Lovecraft - The Dunwich Horror in particular - and provides an odd departure from the usual horrors the player finds in the Capital Wasteland.
