So, after a whole load of nothing, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood ends rather dramatically. With a little help from his friends, Desmond discovers a piece of Eden and proceeds to immediately touch the thing, at which point he is manipulated by an ancient God into murdering Lucy, his companion and love interest.

Remember when Assassin's Creed was about assassins? Anyway, while Lucy's death was quite a shocking moment in itself, the whole thing was undermined by later instalments in the series, which acted as if nothing had even happened.

In Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Lucy is barely referenced at all, and while her death is eventually confirmed, the characters act like it didn't even happen, or like they barely remember the details of the incident. They mention attending her funeral, but that's about it. Her death has almost no impact whatsoever; it doesn't effect anything, and it barely even resonates. In fact, playing through subsequent games, it almost feels like the developers just forgot about her entirely, and so shoved in a couple references here and there to cover up their inattention to detail.
