Finally, we add a fighting game to this list. Fighting games were forged from mankind's competitive urges and Tekken 3 is one of the finest games in its genre. While technically on a 2D plain, Tekken always rotated to add a 3D impression to stages. In part 3 this was made a key function of the gameplay; making sidestepping into a valuable skill to learn for dodging and defensive purposes. This gives Tekken 3 a really unique look, aided by improved character models. There's plenty of them too. With 21 characters in total (the largest roster in a Tekken game at that point), there's plenty of characters to learn and battle with. Each character comes with their own unique set of combos to utilise in combat, making practice mode a vital tool if you were hoping to humiliate your friends. It also has a pretty fun minigame to battle your friends with; Tekken Ball - Tekken's version of beach volleyball where landing a point against your opponent deals them damage. With Tekken's juggling mechanics, it's a surprisingly fun mode. The original Arcade version is unbelievably rare in the wild but the PlayStation port of Tekken 3 has served as the battleground for many a competitive rivalry over the years. Debate rages on about what is the greatest fighting game of all time, but regardless, demolishing our friends in Tekken 3 is an almost unbeatable pleasure.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
