20 Coolest Trailers For Bad Video Games

A lot was riding of Redfall. As an Xbox-exclusive, the co-op first person vampire shooter from Arkane carried a huge weight of expectation on its shoulders. The reveal trailer at E3 2021 showed off what looked like already-polished visuals that centred on an interesting bunch of survivors, each with unique abilities, fighting through a town that was overrun with vampiric demons.

The premise sounded great, and the trailer really sold the concept well. Redfall seemed to be combining Arkane's trademark immersion with the sort of chaotic, co-op action you'd expect from a game like Left 4 Dead, letting players loose in a creepy open world setting to tackle in any way they saw fit.

Then, Redfall actually arrived in May 2023. The game was not the masterpiece many had hoped for. It was plagued by dull, repetitive missions, really poor enemy AI, and an extremely underwhelming open world. This was particularly annoying for fans of Arkane because it was clear there was a great game here, somewhere underneath all of these issues. Unfortunately, the finished game just felt like it didn't quite know what it wanted to be.
