Ask a lot of RPG fans what their favourite game of all time is, and the answer you're likely to hear most often will be Planetscape: Torment. So when a Kickstarter campaign for the game's successor, Torment: Tides of Numenera, went live, the $900,000 target was reached within six hours. The final Kickstarter figure reached $4.1 million, and after adding the funding from other sources the grand total stood at $4.7 million. Much like Planetscape: Torment, Tides of Numenera is a game that will focus on characters, the world, and story, with combat taking a back seat. Extensive character classes and dialogue trees are also promised when the game is released at the end of 2015. Expect this to be one of the games of the year.
