20 Crowdfunded Video Games That Made Millions

2. Shroud Of The Avatar: Forsaken Virtues - $5.4 million

If the names Richard Garriot, Lord British, Ultima, and Tabula Rasa mean anything to you, then you'll probably be pretty excited about the upcoming Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues. The game doubled its original Kickstarter goal of $1 million, but with the money from other sources, it raised an incredible $5.4 million, making it the second must successfully crowdfunded game to date. The fantasy RPG, which is said to combine a single player narrative with a sandbox MMO, will also have episodic content, a single player offline mode, selective multiplayer modes, PvP, as well as a ton of other features. Although it's still in early access, the game could have the potential to become the modern day Ultima.
