20 Dead Gaming Franchises That NEED To Come Back

With this year's release of Capcom Fighting Collection 2, many players got the chance to play Power Stone 1 + 2 for the first time.

Unlike traditional fighters of its era, Power Stone was a 3D arena brawler, where players could move freely, use the environment, and weaponise objects in real time. By collecting three crystals, characters could unleash a devastating attack on their opponents.

Although the ever-changing scenery and unpredictable placement of power-ups made gameplay chaotic, it stopped battles becoming too one-sided, giving everybody a chance to turn the tables on their rivals.

Even though Power Stone got great reviews, it didn't sell, since it was only available initially on the Dreamcast, with the sequel launching less than a year before the system was discontinued.

But since the re-release has been well-received, let's hope Capcom recognise Power Stone has a fervent fanbase. 3D brawlers are among the few genres that aren't oversaturated, so Power Stone shouldn't fall between the cracks if it returned.

And with today's tech, Power Stone could be more dynamic than ever by incorporating online play, a vast campaign mode, and more intricate fighting mechanics.
