Jet Force Gemini, like essentially the entirety of Rare's N64 library of games only further cemented the partnership between Rare and Nintendo throughout the 90s as being one of the must lucrative and successful since the birth of the industry. Makes you wonder why the Big N decided to sell the studio off to Microsoft, doesn't it?

For the same reasons as to why Body Harvest hasn't disappeared from memory for being 'just another third-person shooter', Jet Force Gemini's emphasis on exploration and non-linear gameplay provided a world that didn't simply consist of 'kill small alien, complete arbitrary objective, kill slightly bigger alien'.

All of that aside, Jet Force quite possibly has the most alluring, atmospheric sound design of any of its contemporaries. Now you must excuse me, I still need to secure the safety of all those Tribals and unlock the final stage for myself.
