Did you know that Batman: Arkham Asylum's signature combat was almost a rhythm-based mini-game instead?

A 2009 Game Informer interview with Rocksteady reveals that the game's combat went through three major revisions, with the first positioning it as a rhythm game in which you presumably needed to smack goons around to a beat.

Given that there's an inherent rhythm to the combat in the final game, it makes a certain amount of twisted sense, even if Rocksteady were probably smart to ditch the mini-game.
