12. San Andreas Characters Ryder & OG Loc Are Modeled After Real-Life Rappers
The GTA series has, especially in recent years, begun to draw upon real-life figures for influence as part of its outrageous pop-culture satire (such as the various socialite characters clearly being parodies of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and so on), though two focal characters in San Andreas' campaign have actually been modeled pretty much directly on famous figures. Firstly, there's turncoat Ryder, who bears an uncanny resemblance to legendary N.W.A rapper Eazy-E (whose music is included in the game's soundtrack), and secondly, OG Loc was written to be a parody of Ja Rule: they both have the first name Jeffrey, and Loc's stealing of Madd Dogg's lyrics reflects Rule's apparent theft of music from rapper DMX.
