19. Lickitung Couldn't Actually Lick
Lickitung is one of the fondly remembered original 151 Pokémon, although probably not one of the more popular ones. The main thing to notice about Lickitung's appearance is the giant tongue sticking out of its mouth. It's kinda difficult to miss, to be honest.
Back in Generation I, though, it had absolutely no use for this masterpiece of evolution - it couldn't learn the move Lick. Presumably it just left its tongue flopping about on the floor, wondering what to do with it. What a wonderful image that is.
Fortunately for the little guy, Game Freak remembered that tongues weren't just sloppy paperweights, and Lickitung managed to learn how to actually use its signature physiology in Gold and Silver.
