1. Pokémon Was Meant To End A Long Time Ago
As you know, Pokémon is a phenomenally successful series - it's a multi-billion dollar industry across the world. But for the President of the Pokémon Company in Japan, it was never meant to become that big a deal.
For President Tsunekazu Ishihara, the game series was meant to end with the release of Gold and Silver Versions. According to a 2010 interview, he saw Gold and Silver as the "finish line" - completing the major series starting from Red and Blue.
Fortunately for fans, the success of the games (they sold faster then the originals did) made him rethink his decision - culminating in the series running through until the present day. Good job, too - can you imagine a world where the Pokémon games were only a distant memory?
