9. The Absolute Ridiculousness Of Dark Souls Messages, And How They Somehow Make Sense

Dark Souls' messaging system is absolute genius. Despite the fact that it only gives you access to a selection of stock statements, players worldwide have found so many ridiculous ways to make messages make sense, despite the fact that they shouldn't.

The most famous is probably the line "Amazing Chest Ahead!" which was probably meant to be used originally for actual chests, but instead refers to the assets of Gwynevere, the giant Princess in Anor Londo.

There's countless other examples. Smough, or any larger enemy is generally referred to as a "Fatty". "Weakness: rolling" is also a popular one, usually next to breakable barrels or vases. Sometimes, people will just drop something like "try beating to a pulp" which is utterly useless but always amusing.

In Dark Souls 3 - mild spoilers! - you'll return to Anor Londo and be able to visit the place where Gwynevere was previously. If you do, you'll probably find that some genius has put "No chest ahead." or something to that effect.

"Try Finger But Hole" usually next to a body that's over a balcony or perched on top of something is always a popular one too.
