20 MORE Video Game Bosses That Forced You To CHEAT

2. Incubus/Incubator - Silent Hill

Depending on the players' actions in Silent Hill, the protagonist, Harry, will be greeted by The Incubator or Incubus at the end of the main campaign. Both bosses rely on aerial fireball barrages and sweeping melee slams, which are very difficult to avoid. There's only a brief window of opportunity to strike the demonic entity, so players must remain ever vigilant.

It's also worth mentioning that Harry should have barely any bullets left at this point. When it comes to the survival-horror genre, ammo is usually scarce in order to heighten the tension. (After all, monsters aren't as scary when you have a few grenade launchers and mini-guns to spare.) As a result, the last thing anybody would want is to have an empty clip before facing the final boss.

However, being unarmed makes the final encounter easier. If players don't have a single bullet in their inventory when they confront Incubus or The Incubator, the boss will inexplicably die. It may take a while to trigger but so long as our defenceless hero dodges the villain's attacks for a few minutes, this "fight" will abruptly come to an end.
