20 Most Anticipated Video Games Of 2018 - Ranked
13. Metro: Exodus
Used to show off the Xbox One X's ludicrously powerful hardware specs, 4A's latest Metro went down a far more set piece-filled route than ever before at the system's launch event.
So far that's all we've seen of the post-apocalyptic tale, though past games 2033 and Last Light give a pretty solid idea as to what 4A will have in store - a ton of horror-based thrills and some grimy, underground chills.
Set in a world where nukes have ravaged the surface and pushed various cultures, factions and religions underground, Metro's original novels by Dmitry Glukhovsky provide a suitable backdrop for all sort of philosophical and socio-political conversations as you mix gunplay with exposition, ultimately resulting in an incredibly underrated series that's yet to have its day in the sun.
Though, as we saw with The Witcher III, there's hope for beloved cult franchises yet.
