8. South Park: The Fractured But Hole

Due to what felt like relentless delays, South Park's Fractured But Hole almost feels as though it's stealth-releasing later this year (silent but deadl- sorry), but it is finally releasing.

Or at least, it is, as of time of writing.

Either way, FBW is Trey Parker and Matt Stone's riff on the superhero genre, aiming to do for capes n' laser-eyes what The Stick of Truth did for orcs, demons and fantasy. We know very little other than that development shifted to being in-house for Ubisoft, and that combat remains turn-based, but you have more options available when placing your characters on the field.

No matter what, Stick of Truth was an exemplary recreation of the South Park aesthetic, one of the funniest games I've ever played and a meaty RPG to boot. Fix certain stat buffs and give us more depth to in-battle strategies, and Ubi will be onto a winner.
