20 Most Critically Adored Horror Video Games Of All Time

11. F.E.A.R

Rating: 88

Multiple horror films have shown us just how terrifying little girls are - The Exorcist, The Shining, The Ring... The list is near endless.

Heavily inspired by these classics (and the Japanese horror genre in general), F.E.A.R bids to get under the player's skin and keep them jumping at every shadow and vague movement - it works scarily well.

Alma, a ghostly little girl, appears multiple times, creating eerie visions and performing superhuman acts (usually involving killing) - she really is one of the most terrifying characters ever encountered in a game.
