20 Most Jaw-Dropping Games of 2012

12. The Walking Dead

The dark horse. Did anyone else sigh when they heard The Walking Dead game was going to be developed by the company responsible for that abomination of entertainment known as Jurassic Park: The Game? I guess that€™ll teach me. The Walking Dead has won numerous Game of the Year awards for its bleak, uncompromising storyline, superb voice acting, and comic book inspired visuals. It's that rare game that convinces you, sometimes against your will, to care deeply for its characters. I imagine that ten years from now we'll be talking about The Walking Dead (at least the first season of it) with the same reverence we have when discussing games like Zelda, Half-Life, The Adventures of Monkey Island, and Metal Gear Solid. Get ready to shed those tears, baby. The Walking Dead is a visceral, emotional journey that takes no prisoners.
