20 Most Replayable Video Game Moments Of The 2000s

12. F.E.A.R. (2005) - Any Gun Fight In An Office

Slow-motion gunfights may now be something of a cliche, and we have the previous entrant on this list to thank for that, but F.E.A.R. is the best application of them in a first-person shooter. F.E.A.R. swings between making you feel like an unstoppable combat machine, and a terrified, twitchy wreck. I'd happily never repeat the ghoulish encounters with Alma again, but I'm prepared to brave them to get to the outstanding action sequences. Gunning down those heavyweight grunts (with fantastic body physics that still hold up) is best done in one of the game's office environments, where debris and detritus are in plentiful supply. Bolstered by your slow-mo and martial arts abilities, you fly-kick your way through a window, sending a grunt flying over a desk while shattered glass rains down around you. You then switch on slow-motion, trying not to admire the beautiful bullet trails as you duck between desks, shooting your enemies, and Bruce Lee-ing them when appropriate. Just make sure to save before these sequences and not play on after them, lest Alma jumps out, scares the sh*t out of you, and melts your feelings of swagger of down into fear.
