The Image: After finally seeking revenge against Edgar Ross for the murder of his father, Jack Marston walks away, content that he has done well by his family, as the game's closing title card appears. Why It's Powerful: Talk about a cathartic release. The death of protagonist John Marston at the hands of Edgar Ross at the tail end of the game made for one of the most heart-wrenching moments in any Rockstar video game, but they smartly gave us the chance to avenge him by placing us in the shoes of his son Jack three years later. Though the epilogue portion of the game isn't particularly long or involved, the beauty is in fact in its simplicity: you simply track Ross down, and then kill him in a duel. Only then does the game truly end, with Jack likely to follow a similar path to his father, though hopefully meeting a far more peaceful conclusion to his story. And yes, we're still crossing our fingers for a sequel that has us playing as Jack.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
