20 Severely Underrated PS4 Games You Must Play

2. Rocket League

The game of the summer, you could argue Rocket League isn't 'underrated' when it comes to reviews, but until your average person on the street can quote it alongside Call of Duty, Metal Gear Solid and GTA as a pillar of gaming's elite, I'll not stop pointing the spotlight in its direction. Sold to the masses as 'soccer with rocket-cars' and first given away for free with July's PlayStation Plus offering, Rocket League announces itself in full when you finally get behind the controls. Each vehicle controls with the perfect amount of control, whilst its physics-based nature and nitrous-boosts makes for a staggering amount of fidelity when it comes to angling the ball goal-wards or diving in to steal it from another player. Rocket League was immediately recognised as an eSport, and has seen some truly unbelievable displays of player control since release, but it's not until you actually get hands-on and slam a ball right into the top corner - the crowd erupting and the fireworks going off in all directions - that make it hit home just how perfect everything really feels.
