YouTube has a lot to answer for, or rather the users who get rich from uploading walk-through videos do... Video games are supposed to be hard!

As in life, there are no real shortcuts and it's an important lesson to learn. Those who admit defeat after five minutes and end up crawling off to the internet so some high-pitched kid can unpick the secrets of whichever bit is giving them grief are the most fair-weather of all gamers.

Developers want their titles to be tricky, they want people to use their brains and test their powers of lateral thinking, not to have all their hard work dismantled in seconds.

A proper gamer is one who still has unfinished puzzles and levels stashed away in the back of their brain from ten, twenty or even third years ago. To this day they mull over possible solutions and alternative scenarios because they didn't cave in and cheat, they never wrote in to Mean Machines to ask for help and they flatly refused the kind offer to borrow their mates Game Genie because they were too proud.

Those people deserve respect. Gaming is a way of life, cheating is a way of... Er, cheating.

Seeing people on YouTube get a multi-player kicking on a modern title like Rocket League, now that's something worth watching.
