It's no secret at all that Hideo Kojima and Konami were on unpleasant terms throughout MGS V's production, with word suggesting that Konami was unhappy with the speed and cost of development.

Things got fraught enough that, despite the game being developed by Kojima Productions, references to both the company and Kojima himself were removed from the box art due to their impending departure from Konami.

Things got uglier at the 2015 Game Awards a few months after MGS V's release, though, when Konami prevented Kojima from attending the show to collect his Industry Icon Award, resulting in the passing-out being delayed until the next year.
