20 Upcoming Video Games That Might Surprise You
11. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Remake
There are, admittedly, a lot of people skeptical that the long-gestating remake of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell will ever actually see the light of day.
After all, the remake was formally announced in December 2021 and since then we've seen not a single shred of gameplay, while the game's original director, David Grivel, departed the project in 2022 only to re-join it late last year.
It doesn't speak to the smoothest of productions, then, but one can only hope, only pray, that Ubisoft is taking their time to make sure they get this remake right.
Because if the Splinter Cell remake delivers a quality update of the beloved stealth action original, it just might do well enough that Ubisoft decides to finally greenlight a brand new game - the first since Splinter Cell: Blacklist way back in 2013.
Sure, it's entirely possible this remake never comes out, isn't good, or doesn't sell enough to reignite wider interest in the IP, but there's certainly hope to the contrary.
