20 Video Games That Defined 20 Years Of PlayStation
16. Tomb Raider
Lara Croft was propelled to superstardom when she made her debut in Tomb Raider in 1996. Her strong character and independence appealed to women in a time when few protagonists did, while her obvious anatomical assets made her a bit of a sex symbol. Whether it was single-handedly gunning down a T-rex or being chased down a slope by a boulder - Lara's games were full of memorable moments that the vast majority of players experienced on the good ol' PS1. They may not have aged gracefully, but there's no denying that the early Tomb Raider games (the first one especially) played a pivotal role in boosting the popularity of Sony's first console.
