WoW's extensive online presence has been felt ever since it released in 2004, as nearly every MMORPG since then has attempted to cash in on the craze. It has spawned just as many imitators as any other successful franchise, leading to gamers all over the world voicing their preference proudly. It even inspired an entire episode of South Park, known as "Make Love, Not Warcraft", which was one of the highest-rated episodes of all time.
