20 Video Games That Mock You For Failing The Tutorial

10. Awaiting Court Martial - Half-Life: Opposing Force

Half-Life: Opposing Force is an expansion pack to Valve's famous first-person shooter that takes a break from Gordon Freeman's main story to focus on a new character, a marine soldier named Adrian Shephard.

Obviously an expansion about an army man would feature some army-themed levels, and indeed, the game begins with a tutorial in which Shepard undergoes military training, familiarizing you with Half-Life's mechanics with exercises like crawling through a fake battlefield and practicing your aim at a shooting range.

Just remember to shoot at your actual targets, because stray bullets fired at your fellow soldiers will land you in big trouble.

When you receive your first real weapon, the Desert Eagle, you're supposed to try it out on designated targets, but some players may choose the more psychotic option to aim the gun at the other soldiers instead.

Upon firing the pistol at your drill sergeant or any other person on the training field, you will immediately be punished with a special game over screen saying "awaiting court martial," implying your character was immediately sent to prison and chastising you for your attempted rampage.

There's an alien invasion coming, but you can bet bad players will get their due justice.
