Ever play Shadow of the Colossus, and see the boss fight where you latch onto a massive flying creature, and the second you do, the score swells and you're whisked way up into the skies, holding on for dear life? It was one hell of a defining moment for that game, and although Dragon's Dogma is so much more than these dynamic set-pieces, I can't think of anything else that's even come close to providing the same rush. Regardless, it's these sorts of moments that'll highlight any session spent exploring the world of Dragon's Dogma; its sprawling open world positively stuffed with loot to snatch up, enemies to slay and friendships to forge. The main plot sees a dragon stealing your heart (just go with it), but it's in the act of exploring with your loyal companions (who can go online to help other players, before returning with whatever they find) and having intense showdowns with hulking monstrous beasts that lets Dragon's Dogma make its mark.
