21 Gaming Memories Only 90s Kids Will Have

8. Building Rollercoasters Of Doom In Rollercoaster Tycoon

One of the only things more fun than theme parks is actually making them, and no game gave us a better outlet for our rollercoastery creativity than Rollercoaster Tycoon. It was a beautifully crafted simulator that made every aspect of park creation a joy, even down to the guests that just had to be sick after every single ride and cause a need for hundreds of janitors.

Of course, the real fun of Rollercoaster Tycoon was building an incredibly intricate track filled with loops and dips and dives, only to have it end with the track reaching for the skies and abruptly ending, sending the rollercoaster and its passengers flying into the sunset in a blaze of glory.

Incidentally, "The Blaze of Glory" was an excellent name for these deathtraps.

7. The Shortcut On Corneria In Lylat Wars (Star Fox 64)

Known as Star Fox 64 to some and Lylat Wars to others, the Star Fox series has never again reached the dizzy heights of this fantastic game. Everyone remembers screaming at the screen as Slippy died for the umpteenth time and everyone remembers that Pig Boss from the Asteroids level screaming €œAaaandrooooooss!!!€ as he died at the hands of your mad laser skills.

But the fondest memory of this game is the secret route found in the very first level. A number of steps had to be taken to reach it. If you did it right, Falco guided you through a secret passage behind a waterfall to reach the secret boss of the stage. It felt awesome flying off the beaten path with your blue-feathered friend.
