"Just one more star...I just need one.more.star" you utter as the clock once again strikes midnight and the sinking realisation (or utterly pride-worthy) sensation you've spent the evening collecting digital stars begins to take hold, as Mario Galaxy and Crackdown both have the honour of being able to call themselves the only games over the years that have collectables worth collecting for the sheer fun of it. Whilst the latter was another great super-powered romp that turned things up to 11 in certain spots before Saints Row IV came along and ripped the dial off altogether, the former was another perfect entry into the Mario franchise, replete with system-selling graphics and that oh-so exquisite gameplay that only Nintendo can get just right. Although it's easy to look at Nintendo these days and question their ability to move past the 90's in terms of introducing any new characters to the regular fold, when what they're turning out is as proficient and !*$% adorable as this Pixar-esque wonder, many are glad they stick to their guns and repeatedly tickle the nostalgic nerve in the most satisfying of ways. Replay it specifically for: That feeling you get with every Mario game where the platforming is so perfect you just want to control him that little bit longer, except this time you can venture our for one more notch on your score.
