25 Best Sega Games Of All Time - RANKED

22. Virtua Cop 2

Yakuza game
Sega

Whether you played it on PC, clicking those baddies into submissions with precision shots, were at home on your Sega Saturn or Dreamcast with your lightgun or gathered around the big flashy cabinet in the arcade with your chums, Virtua Cop 2 is an absolute classic.

While it is very similar to the first one, Virtua Cop 2 is even better. The main difference is the ability to swap your route as you play through the game, inspiring you to return to the dingy arcade once more and see how it all plays out differently. Branching paths in games nowadays are all over the place, but back then, something like this just blew your mind.

Then there's the action sequences. Virtua Cop 2 doubles down on the action, delivering a slicker, more intense experience than the original, feeling as one reviewer put it 'taking the game one step closer to the feel of a big budget action movie'.

When you're holding the lightgun, and waves after waves of terrorists are coming at you, and you're trying to hold them at bay, Virtua Cop 2 is an absolute pulse-pounding thrill ride.
