26 Characters To Consider For The Next Super Smash Bros

21. Leon Kennedy

Leon

Probability: 10% This almost definitely won€™t happen, and rightly so. I include him because a lot of fans would like to see him after the Resident Evil 4 port on the Wii actually provided a superior experience to the original game. However, lead designer Iwata has stated in interviews that they€™re looking to keep a lid on the number of third party characters entering the game, and one has to wonder if horror-survivalist Leon Kennedy really has a place in the Super Smash Bros Universe. Before Solid Snake in SBBB, I would have said definitely not, but for the moment I€™m leaving this as an €˜unlikely.€™

20. Rayman

Rayman

Probability: 70% Rayman has had a degree of success on Nintendo consoles, but seemed in danger of losing his relevance in the long gap after the distinctly average Rayman 3 in 2003. However, with the release of the exceptional Rayman Origins last year and Rayman Legends currently in development for the Wii U, it seems unlikely that he won€™t be included this time around. Although I€™m not sure what Master Hand would make of a character with two disembodied white hands.

19. Crono

Crono

Probability: 10% If you€™ve played Chrono Trigger you€™ll understand. Widely regarded as one of the best RPGs ever released, Chrono Trigger was a massive hit for the SNES, offering some unforgettable characters and a fun time-travel storyline. Other titles in the franchise never really managed to recapture that initial magic, and while Square Enix have been known to work with Nintendo recently (for example, in Kingdom Hearts,) it€™s unlikely that we€™ll see Crono in Super Smash Bros, but there€™s a lot of fans who would be very happy.

18. Masked Link

MaskedLink

Probability: 35% A popular idea in the fan community, and with good reason. One of the few true sequels in the Zelda universe, Majora€™s Mask offered a nice change of pace from the epic Ocarina of Time. With a 3DS remake of Majora€™s Mask reportedly under consideration by Nintendo, Masked Link does not seem as unlikely as he previously did. As Zelda fans are aware, the character can change his form by putting on different masks, and take on characteristics of the various races that inhabit Hyrule. This character would not be unlike Pokemon Trainer, as he could change between 3 or 4 very different combatants. This would be a good direction to take the Young Link character, rather than leaving him as a clone.

17. Dr Robotnik

Robotnik

Probability: 30% Another familiar face from the Sonic franchise, Dr Robotnik (aka Dr Eggman) would join as a heavy weight fighter. While the same criticisms mentioned earlier regarding Tails/Knuckles/Shadow/Amy still apply, the inclusion of another Sonic character isn€™t outside the realms of possibility, and his primary antagonist is amongst the most likely to feature.
