26 Characters To Consider For The Next Super Smash Bros

11. Megaman

Another popular Capcom character, Megaman debuted on the NES and has enjoyed ups and downs of popularity ever since. We saw a Megaman title on the DS as recently as 2010 with the Mega Man Zero collection, so the time couldn€™t be riper. A lot of gamers were disappointed he didn€™t join the fun in SSBB, so surely Super Smash Bros Wii U offers an opportunity to rectify this.

10. Pokemon Trainers

There are quite a few popular Pokemon trainers who haven€™t appeared yet in Super Smash Bros, and an even greater number of pokemon. They could either be implemented as new characters, or even as the different skin for the Pokemon Trainer character, with 3 different pokemon from newer generations replacing Charizard, Squirtle and Bulbasaur. Pokemon are already quite well represented, though, so they might be keener to bring in characters from different franchises.

9. Dixie Kong

Dixie Kong would be a great addition. Once again, there€™s a need for more female characters, and Diddy Kong€™s girlfriend has a great move-set all ready, especially her signature helicopter hair spin. The only problem is that she hasn€™t starred in a game since the amazing Donkey Kong Country 2 in 1995. Still, she€™s a popular choice amongst DK fans and might have an outside chance of making the cut.

8. Professor E. Gadd

Probability: 15%

Possibly better left as a trophy or sticker than a playable character, Professor E. Gadd remains a potential addition. After making cameos in Mario Kart, Mario Party and Mario Golf, he might be included as a nod to Luigi€™s Mansion, which is all the more likely considering the fact that a sequel is currently in development; Luigi€™s Mansion: Dark Moon. But would he be capable of squaring off against the likes of Bowser and Solid Snake? Unlikely.

7. Ridley

RidleyProbability: 65%

Ever since he showed up in the Super Smash Bros. Melee intro video, fans have speculated that Ridley could join the cast. The objection that he€™s too big doesn€™t really work €“ Bowser appears as several hundred times Mario€™s size in Super Mario Sunshine €“ and there are only two Metroid fighters currently in Super Smash Bros €“ and they€™re both Samus. As Metroid is a huge Nintendo franchise, it€™s quite likely that they€™d look to expand its number of fighters in the next outing, and Ridley is the most likely choice.
