25 Greatest Console Games Of 2012

21. Medal of Honor: Warfighter

Shoot your way through locations like Somalia and The Philippines in EA Games' biggest release of 2012. Focusing less on the war as a whole, and much more on the personal lives and issues of the soldiers you play and your comrades around you means that this Medal of Honor sets itself apart from your other shooter games.

22. Resident Evil: Revelations

Telling the story of what happens between Resident Evil 4 and 5, Revelations is exclusive to the 3DS and one of the best games on the platform that we've played. With a story much longer than expected for the 3DS, and gameplay more interactive and expansive than we could have predicted, Revelations is a fantastic addition for any Resident Evil fan with a 3DS console.

23. Resident Evil 6

Set ten years after the original Raccoon City incident, in 2013, Resident Evil 6 is set in a world in turmoil after the C-Virus has reached simply pandemic proportions. Unlike the disappointment of Resident Evil 5, there's a reason you're being shot at; the zombies have made their return and this game is purely action-based. No, it's not 1, 2 or 3; the gameplay and format are different, but the franchise has evolved in a healthy way and we're glad to be putting this back on our 'best of' lists this year after the abysmal creation of RE5.

24. Darksiders II

001 Death. The most feared of the legendary four horsemen. Embarking on a journey to redeem his brother's name and simultaneously become the name that everyone fears yet no one can escape. The gameplay is challenging whilst still giving you your own space and purpose. Take note of the two skill trees - a clear improvement on the first in the series. The game features fantastic arty scenery and environments, too - always a plus.

25. Mark of the Ninja

If you're a fan of games found on the Xbox Live Arcade, it'd be a crime for you to not be checking out Mark of the Ninja. It's a side-scrolling stealth action game, with fascinating graphics for a 2D creation and intense gameplay. The cartoon artwork mixed with great play experience makes for one of the coolest games to be found on the XBLA, and keep your ears on the voice acting - impressive for a game with this low a price tag.
