Neuromancer – a cyberpunk adventure game with role-playing elements – is based on the novel of the same name, and is somehow weirder than its source material, which is saying a great deal indeed. In the game, players control the protagonist in cyberspace, manoeuvring him around a virtual environment and combating artificial intelligences, hacking various programs in order to slow down adversaries and inflict significant damage.

The cover art - a character’s head and shoulders separated into quadrants, the various sections seemingly disconnected – does an excellent job of translating the game’s tone, representing the science-fiction setting and cyberpunk aesthetic with a simple yet undeniablly complex image. It's striking, indicative of the genre, and immediately arresting.
