6. Birthday Mania

Designed specifically as a game to be gifted, Birthday Mania involved the player blowing out birthday candles. It wasn't the most scintillating game of all time, but it did feature a box and cartridge that could be personalised with the owner's name.

It sold terribly, and there was a very limited number ever sold. However, only 2 copies of the game have been accounted for since, meaning that there are a few people with an old birthday present that's now worth a small fortune. Time to search the attic!

5. Magical Chase

Platform: TurboGrafx-16 Released: 1993 Potential Sealed Price: $14,000 Potential Used/Worn Price: $7,000

This scrolling shooter title for the TurboGrafx was released right near the end of the console's lifespan, making copies very difficult to get ahold of these days. Magical Chase is also considered something of a classic in the genre, making it one of the most sought after video games ever.

We haven't managed to find any factory sealed auctions, but one that claims to be in perfect mint condition was sold for $13,900 only last month. Copies of the game that come in less-than-perfect condition are still extremely valuable, frequently selling for at least $7,000.
