5. Resident Evil Zero Started As An N64 Game
The GameCube breathed new life back into the franchise, with its exclusive remake of the first and prequel Resident Evil Zero, but it may not have been that way.
You see, RE: 0 actually started life as an N64 game. Prior to Resident Evil 2's surprisingly successful port, Zero began development in 1998 for Nintendo's polygon-favouring console.
And you know what?
It didn't look half bad, considering the technology at the time.
But limitations prevented the scope of the game being achieved and production shifted to the GameCube instead. Which, and I'm sure players will agree, worked out for the best in the end.
