25 Most Criminally Underrated PS2 Games Of All Time
13. Freedom Fighters
Homefront: The Revolution may have fallen down when it comes to realising the idea of alternate timelines and defending America from foreign invaders, but Freedom Fighters own spin already nailed that premise WAY back in 2003.
Literally casting you as a random person off the street in the Soviet-occupied US, you'd need to take up arms and rally your fellow men to fight beside you, learning abilities and exploring the dilapidated streets as you went. Team commands and tactical options were available on the fly, and thanks to this being made by Hitman's IO Interactive, gunplay was snappy and ragdoll physics saw enemies spin through the sky every few minutes.
It might have gotten ignored next to the stealth-tastic behemoth that is Hitman, but Freedom Fighters remains one of the most innovative and uniquely framed third-person shooters of all time.
