The Call of Duty franchise is notorious for killing off characters; such is the nature of war after all. But while the series has seen its fair share of death, no death was felt quite as much as that of Soap in Modern Warfare 3. When the plan to assassinate Vladimir Makarov goes horribly wrong, Soap gets caught in an explosion that fatally wounds him.
