4. Final Fantasy VII

It sounds a little strange to say Final Fantasy VII is a 'PlayStation game', but aside from making its way to PC for one port, Sony's machines are the only home consoles to ever house its splendour.

At this stage, new generations emerge from the womb knowing that Sephiroth is a total badass whilst humming the core theme, but it can't be understated how immaculately well FF VII has aged, and just how much of an impact it made at the time.

Yes, there are instances of bad translation and spots of dated animation, but the story, script and especially characters shine through above all. FF VII is still the best of the bunch (hence why it's receiving a remake in 2017), and if you're yet to experience it, remedy that immediately.
