If you somehow managed to skip out Super Mario 64 has you went about your video game education, you deserve to be exiled from planet Earth on charges of "whattheheck?" Though Mario's transition to 3D could have been embarrassing and awkward, under the guidance of one Shigeru Miyamoto, Super Mario 64 changed the face of gaming forever; this was truly the first game to release the potential of 3D maps, whilst the game itself - like everything Miyamoto creates - is built with such fine craftsmanship that it nearly brings a tear to the eye. Not to mention the fact that Super Mario 64 made you feel like a real hero whenever you nabbed a star that you'd be trying to get for weeks on end. Legendary.
