3 Reasons You Want Nintendo To Stop Making Consoles

1. The Overall Package Is A Rip-off

The Wii U is currently unsuccessful. It is selling horribly, and it lacks a true system seller. While I say this there are thousands of gamers who are just waiting to throw their money at Nintendo the second they release the next Zelda, Super Smash Bros, or Mario Kart. Nintendo knows this, and this is why they can get away with making an inferior product. They are consistently bailed out by the loyal following that their games have created. The fact of the matter is that this is wrong. The Wii U is a giant rip-off. At launch, PS4 will cost only $100 more than the Wii U. For only an extra $100 you can get a system that has 4 times the RAM and over ten times more storage. Not only that you will also be able to play almost every third party game that is released. It is impossible to justify the $100 difference between the two systems. The hardware is not the only thing lacking on the Wii U either. The PS4 and Xbox One have better online ecosystems. Chances are you will find more of your friends playing on one of those two consoles than you will on the Wii U. In the end you are paying $300 for a console that is lacking in several areas just so you can play a few of the games Nintendo makes. It does not matter how much of a rip-off the Wii U is because gamers will buy it. Nintendo can put out an inferior product, and still make money off the backs of their following. The question will be if the core gamers are enough for Nintendo to survive this generation as it is doubtful they can capture the audience they did with the Wii. In all honesty it would be best for everyone if Nintendo bowed out and just focused on creating quality games. It is apparent by their recent track record that they should not be in this console war.
