Over 25 years after its original run ended amid considerable fan dissatisfaction, David Lynch's iconic mystery show is back for 18 new episodes on Showtime, with the majority of the original cast returning alongside an all-star batch of newcomers, including but certainly not limited to Monica Bellucci, Jim Belushi, Michael Cera, Laura Dern, Robert Forster, Ernie Hudson, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Matthew Lillard, Trent Reznor, Tim Roth, Amanda Seyfried and Naomi Watts.

It remains to be seen whether the end product will be a glorious opus or a total mess, but seeing Lynch's first major work behind the camera in over a decade just might be the TV event of the year. Maybe brush up on the original episodes first though, because it's bound to get confusing.
