21. Star Fox Zero Gameplay Premiere, Due Holiday 2015
The single real highlight of Nintendo's pitiful digital event was the opening reveal of Star Fox Zero, and this time it wasn't off-screen footage like the last time Shigeru Miyamoto teased it. The new gameplay demonstrated the mixture of open and more linear environments throughout the game, emphasising the appeal of the dual screen approach to create more immersive combat situations and two viewpoints of all the carnage. The streamlined controls, which rely on far less buttons than previous incarnations of the franchise (looking at you here, N64), should also make combat and flight decidedly easier. While unlikely to be the system seller the Wii U absolutely needs, it's tough not to get excited considering that this is the first proper Star Fox game in over nine freaking years...
