4 Aspects Bioshock Infinite Shares With Donnie Darko

1. Booker And Donnie's Sacrifice

Booker Comstock Donnie Darko travels back in time (and space) back to the primary universe and essentially erases the events that transpired in the film. He sacrifices his own life to put the universe back in check and save the lives of the girl he loves, his mother, one of his sisters, and Frank The Rabbit too. Everybody wins! Except Donnie, of course, who is in fact deceased. I've heard arguments that what Donnie did during the 28 days he spent in the tangent universe set the primary universe right on its own and his death wasn't entirely necessary. I disagree but I feel that the story of Donnie Darko is far from subjective and Richard Kelly knew what he was doing. Was Richard Kelly involved in S.Darko? If he was then I take back what I said about him knowing what he is doing because that movie was DISGUSTING. Bioshock infinite... More like BioSHOCK Infinite, am I right? No really, though. The ending that was presenting in front of us during the final 28 minutes were so mind blowing that after I had witnessed it and the screen faded to black and the credits started to roll I just sat there, staring at the television. I didn't know what to do with myself. Booker DeWitt in another dimension becomes the eventual Comstock that we, as Booker DeWitt have to stop in order to save the cities on the ground. We physically travel through the past, flashbacks if you will, and eventually we get to the place where Comstock was "born", where Booker made the turn and became Comstock and to save the world, to save everyone, the Booker DeWitt we led through the beautiful sky city of Columbia, the Booker DeWitt we know and love, sacrifices himself. His last breath fades to black and the credits roll... The people in charge of the storyline of Bioshock Infinite deserve a medal, big time.
