Resident Evil fans will usually agree that Code Veronica is the game that deserves way more love. Originally meant to be Resident Evil 3, it ended up switching with Nemesis and became a non-numbered entry in the series. Despite not being a main series game, Code Veronica has a dedicated fanbase and we still want the remake!
As mentioned before, not a single soul would have expected to see Code Veronica references in the entire film dedicated to the story of Resident Evil 1 and 2. There's more than enough to cover as it is...oh, but we were wrong. So wrong! We got a massive link to Code Veronica in the trailer, in the form of a film reel that shows the Ashford Twins.
The video clip shown is identical to the one seen in the game where the creepy children pull wings off dragonflies. Does this mean that the future of this new cinematic franchise is being set up? Could a Code Veronica film be on the horizon? After all, it's what we deserve.
