3. Tablet Integration
This is a market that has grown increasingly since the release of Apple's iPad. 10 years ago, tablet pc's were reserved for graphic designers and young artists seeking to find their place in the animation industry. Now, it's commonplace to find young children swiping away at their parent's iPads in grocery stores. Seeing as how these products have taken the market by storm, it seems only logical to begin applying this to the world of home-console interactive entertainment. Nintendo heard the call when they announced the Wii U. The console, which features a tablet controller, is set to release in Fall 2012. The console giant is also responsible for the Nintendo Wii which sold gangbusters upon its release late 2006 - featuring a motion controller that is to be found in over 90 million homes worldwide according to
vgchartz. It only seems necessary for Nintendo to meet the market demand for such devices and incorporate it into their new console. Whether Sony and Microsoft will do the same remains a mystery as of yet.
