5 Cancelled Fallout Video Games You Never Knew Existed

1. Fallout Tactics 2 - PC (2001)

The original Fallout Tactics is probably the most overlooked game in the whole series. It sacrificed many of the RPG elements of the first two Fallouts, and replaced them with a heavy focus on squad-based tactical combat. So admittedly it kind of abandoned what people most loved about Fallout and replaced them with something else, but that shouldn't mask the fact that it was a good game in its own right, with a story that saw you carrying out Brotherhood's benevolent (and brutal) work in the wastelands surrounding Chicago. The sequel was to see the Brotherhood of Steel head out to Florida to prevent a fungi-filled 'mutant garden' from spreading - a result of a G.E.C.K. becoming irradiated and going haywire. Gareth Davies, who was an artist on the original Fallout Tactics, said the sequel would've learned from the feedback on its well-received but poor-selling predecessor, and provided "more interesting tactical missions rather than the run and gun focus of the first game". We also know that it would've featured combat armour and... mutant crocodiles - which were a must considering the game took place in the marshy regions of Florida. Intriguingly, the Fallout Tactics 2 plot shares plenty of similarities with Fountain of Dreams - the largely-forgotten sequel to Wasteland, which was also made by Interplay and is best-known as the spiritual predecessor of Fallout. Which of these do you wish made it to store shelves? Let us know in the comments!
