5 Great Spider-Man Video Games (And 5 That Sucked)

5. Sucked: Spider-Man: The Animated Series

Although the voice cast and character depictions in the N64/PlayStation Spider-Man game used elements of the cartoons, this game was a success despite it not being directly tied to the animated series.

Which makes it all the more surprising that the game based on Spider-Man: The Animated Series was not nearly as enjoyable as the cartoon itself.

Spider-Man: The Animated Series was the last of a line of Spider-Man titles to grace the Sega Genesis and SNES consoles. Although there were slight differences in playable levels, both versions of the game were essentially the same when it comes to story and game play.

To be fair, there are limits to what could be done with games on these consoles. These limits were even tighter considering that The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin, Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade's Revenge, Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage, The Amazing Spider-Man: Lethal Foes, and Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety all preceded it.

What we're left with was a unremarkable game with a handful of villains to boringly beat up over a handful of levels.
